Discharge time is usually before 11 a.m., but it depends on your physician and other caregivers completing your child’s care. You will receive instructions from your physician and nurses, as well as other members of the care team, on the day of discharge. Please do not leave the unit until you have been given these instructions in writing by the nurse on duty.
Some items are one-patient use items, which you are welcome to take home with you. These items include plastic bedpans, urinals, emesis basins, and bath basins. Your nurse or other staff may give dressings and other hospital supplies to you.
Some small items are not intended to be disposable or taken home on discharge, including remote controls for your room TV, the telephone, heating pads, clocks, calendars, linens, and pillows.
